I know some people are insulin resistant but the pancreas produce more insulin to counter it. These people are non-diabetics. In diabetics, the cells are insulin resistant and the pancreas do not produce more insulin to balance because the sugar detecting mechanism does not work well. This surgery seems to tackle the sugar detection mechanism aspect making them like the first group of people. But I still do wonder what makes insulin resistance...
